Visit to the National Science Exhibition
On 28 July, 2025, a group of twenty-three students from classes 6 to 10, accompanied by two teachers—Ms Archana Raichandani and Mr Karmendra—had the privilege of attending the National Level Exhibition of Student Innovations at Galgotias University, Greater Noida. The event was organised by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and generously supported by Tech Mahindra and Tata Technologies.
Set within the university’s expansive, state-of-the-art campus—with its well-stocked library and advanced research facilities—the exhibition provided a dynamic platform for young minds to showcase their creativity. Schools from across the country presented innovative science projects, each reflecting exceptional imagination and technical prowess.
Throughout the day, our students explored a wide variety of exhibits covering themes such as robotics, renewable energy, biotechnology, and sustainable agriculture. They interacted with fellow student innovators, exchanged ideas, and gained valuable insights into cutting-edge scientific developments.
Several projects stood out for their ingenuity:
Peltier Refrigerator: This project demonstrated thermoelectric cooling based on the Peltier Principle—operating without carbon emissions. Designed to help fruit and vegetable vendors, it offers an eco-friendly way to keep produce fresh.
Stickies: A modern, mess-free alternative to traditional glue, "Stickies" is a roll-on adhesive made from plant-based gum. Non-toxic and gentle on the skin, it is both sustainable and safe for everyday use.
AI-enabled Farm Fusion Cane: An impressive agricultural tool, this cane leverages real-time data from soil sensors and weather forecasts to assist farmers in making informed decisions—enhancing productivity and supporting sustainable practices.
Serpent Shield: Addressing the challenges faced in rural areas, "Serpent Shield" is a safety device that detects snake presence using sensors and repels them with vibrations and sound. Integrated lighting ensures visibility during nighttime.
Multifunctional Walking Stick: Designed with the needs of the elderly and differently-abled in mind, this walking stick features an ergonomic handle, flashlight, emergency alarm, GPS tracker, and a foldable seat supporting up to 90kg. Lightweight yet sturdy, it combines comfort and functionality.
The experience was both inspiring and educational. The students returned with broadened horizons, a deeper appreciation for innovation, and renewed enthusiasm to pursue their own creative ideas. Beyond celebrating the spirit of invention, the exhibition encouraged young minds to contribute meaningfully to society through science and technology.
