Winter excursion for Middle School to Bhopal

From 3 to 5 January 2024, an educational trip was organised by The Indian School for the students of classes 6, 7 and 8. 31 students accompanied by 4 teachers set off for their journey to Bhopal from New Delhi Railway Station at 6 am via the comfortable AC Chair Car of the Shatabdi. Upon arrival at 7 pm, the students were accommodated at Hotel Fairyland Clark Inn, where they had dinner.

After a hearty breakfast the next day, the students visited the Tropic of Cancer Point, followed by a visit to the revered Sanchi Stupa, an awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Monument commissioned by Emperor Asoka in the 3rd century BC. This monumental structure stands as a tribute to India’s cultural richness and Buddhist legacy. Subsequently, the students enjoyed their lunch before they embarked on an AC coach journey to the mesmerising Bhimbetka Caves, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. These caves, housing prehistoric rock shelters adorned with ancient paintings, provided a captivating insight into early human life and artistic endeavours.

The day culminated with a delightful dinner back at the hotel. On 5 January 2024, post breakfast, the students were taken for a stroll alongside the scenic Bhopal Lake, embracing the tranquility of its shores and the beauty of its surroundings. Later, they explored the renowned MP Tribal Museum, a prominent establishment showcasing the vibrant heritage of Madhya Pradesh’s tribal communities. Following a fulfilling lunch at the hotel, the group bid adieu at Rani Kamlapati Railway Station aboard the Shatabdi, concluding their enriching journey upon arrival at New Delhi Railway Station around midnight.

This educational expedition proved to be an invaluable experience, allowing students to delve into historical and cultural wonders while gaining insight into the rich heritage of different communities, making it an enriching and enlightening trip for all participants.
