CBSE Aryabhata Ganit Challenge 2023: Promoting Mathematical Competency in Daily Life

Mathematics plays a crucial role in our daily lives, from solving everyday problems to making informed decisions. Recognising the importance of nurturing mathematical competencies among students and encouraging the practical application of Mathematics, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the Aryabhata Ganit Challenge (AGC) annually. This challenge aims to assess and promote students' ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-life situations. The AGC consists of two levels and covers various mathematical domains.

The Aryabhata Ganit Challenge is divided into two levels.

Level 1: School Level Competition held on 4 September'23

- This level is conducted by individual CBSE-affiliated schools.

- It is a pen-and-paper test designed for students of classes VIII to X.

- The competition at this level serves as the first stage of the AGC. 525 students from our School participated at the level.

Level 2: National Level Competition

- CBSE conducts the second level as a computer-based test.

- Participation in this level is restricted to the top three students from each affiliated school that had registered for the first stage.

- The national-level competition focuses on identifying the best mathematical talent from across the country. From our School, Pragyan Medhi- 10D, Uday Rustagi- 10A and Ayush Raj- 8A have qualified for the National Level Competition.

The Aryabhata Ganit Challenge 2023 is a commendable initiative by CBSE which not only provides a platform for showcasing mathematical talent but also recognises and rewards schools for their efforts in nurturing mathematical skills. Through AGC, CBSE continues to contribute to the development of well-rounded individuals equipped with essential mathematical skills for life.
