CBSE workshop on Yoga as a stress buster for students

A few minutes of Yoga during the day can be an excellent way to relieve stress of both, the body and the mind. Pranayama, and meditation are effective stress-reduction techniques. Yoga is an excellent way for students to relieve stress, which has a positive impact on their health.

In the light of this, the CBSE Department of Skill Education organised a one day National Conference for Yoga Gurus on January 31, 2023 at the ITL Public School in Dwarka. At the workshop, Ms Tanuja Bisht represented our School.

The workshop began with Dr Biswajit Saha's welcome address ( Director, CBSE, Skill Education). He welcomed the participants and emphasised on the importance of yoga in the students' daily lives. Dr Jitendra Nagpal (Senior Consultant, Mental Health) and Dr Navneet Kaur (Principal, The Shri Ram Universal School and Executive Director, ICERT Education) also attended the seminar.

Exams and competitions place a heavy burden on students of all ages who are striving to achieve their goals in life. As a result, stress becomes a hidden impediment to their academic success. Dr Navneet Kaur reported that, after seven weeks of practicing asana, breathing exercises, and meditation, the students' stress levels had decreased evidently. Yoga practice helps students improve their cognition and control weight also.

The seminar culminated with a task assigned to all attendees. Participants were assigned an ailment and were directed to identify the asana suitable to cure it. Everyone in the group was summoned to the stage to execute the appropriate asana to heal the ailment. The workshop was participative, and the teachers' queries were adequately handled, making it a learning experience.
