Class 12 Graduation

Graduation, is possibly a most awaited day in everyone's school life, as is also possibly the most dreaded! Both a crowning of one's foundational academic journey as well a painful parting with everyday friends of 14 packed years. Assembled were students from class 12 with their proud parents and teachers. All the teachers since Nursery had made the time for the marking moment in the precious lives that had passed their hands. The occasion began with a Ganesh invocation dance by classes 8 and 9 followed by an address by the Principal. She read out a blessing from Mr. Prafull Goradia, chairman and Dr. Mrs. Nayana Goradia, vice-chairperson specially sent for the graduating students. Raunaq Bhalla, head boy, then stepped forward to share his School years. This was followed by the handing out of citations by Ms. Archana Raichandani, class teacher, 12-A. Ms. Kirandeep Kaur, Arjun Singh's mother, particularly appreciated the individual care attention offered by School to every child, as the auditorium then resonated with the mellifluous 'Aas Pas Hai Khuda' sung by the teachers choir to arm the occasion as it were, with assurance and affection. Pranati Haldia, head girl, was next to share her thoughts. on behalf of the humanities' group. She was followed by her mother, who congratulated each member of the assembly, reminiscing the numerous precious and proud moments that strung her long association with School. Ms. Charu Bhatnagar, class teacher 12-C presented the next set of citations to the humanities stream. A musical medley of videos and photo albums of the class since nursery had the audience screaming in delight and nostalgia as memories raced up close. It scarcely seemed so long ago that our little sobbing cherubs were led into School by their moms and dads for the first time! And again now no eyes were dry. And finally the ceremonial lighting of the diyas. The teachers lent the light to student by student until every child held up a lit diya. The teachers made effort to contain the pride ( and the pangs) of the moment. Each member of the batch was now ready to leave, armed in full to take on the world beyond, as it were. Learning, belief and compassion had been tightly woven to make confidents young adults of a new society. The lamp of knowledge was ready once more, to light the world. A final chorus of the School song by the class, confirmed the promise as a bright bunch of balloons were sent up to mark the new flight. Mehar Kaur (12-B).
