Sir Albert Einstein
On 23 August, 2024, class IX along with two teachers visited the Nehru Planetarium to participate in the National Space Day celebration. The event was organised to deepen the understanding of the universe, space exploration, and the importance of science in our lives, for school students.
The day was filled with enlightening shows and exhibits that left the young visitors in awe and wanting to know more about the mysterious yet grand cosmos.
The excitement was palpable as students from various schools had gathered to commemorate the occasion which holds great significance for India's space exploration programme. The visit included a very informative documentary- the 'Chandrayaan Landing - National Space Day Celebration'.
One of the highlights of the day was a special show to mark the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on 23rd August 2023. The show showcased India's achievements in space exploration, with a focus on the Chandrayaan mission.
The students learned about the mission's goals, the challenges it faced, and why the event is so important for India's space programme. An amazing show about the universe was also presented. It glided on a journey from our solar system to the farthest parts of space. The show answered different questions like the vast size of the universe, what are the different types of constellations, how galaxies are formed and the mysteries that scientists are still trying to solve. The viewers were left amazed by the mammoth spread of the universe.
The visit to Nehru Planetarium on National Space Day was truly a memorable experience. The shows, particularly those commemorating Chandrayaan's landing and exploring the universe, enriched the knowledge and sparked a deeper interest in space science. The insights gained will serve as a foundation for ongoing development to gain more depth in understanding the universe.
