Excursion to School eco- park, class 9

Students of class IX paid a visit to the School eco park located on Sohna Road on Friday, 17th November, 2017. They were accompanied by their teachers, Ms. Pooja Mendiratta and Ms. Chandrima.

The park is an undulating piece of land beyond the urban sprawl of Delhi where students get a first hand feel, quite literally, of the freshness, smells and textures of nature. The cool and quiet atmosphere is utterly welcoming as a great relief from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Upon reaching, we were walked around in the company of geese, ducks, rabbits and roosters! In the lotus pond, the fish and turtles flourished even as the young lotus plants sprout little new leaves.

A demarcated area of the park contains several life size working models of basic elements of science like concave and convex mirrors, DNA strands, xylophones etc. We found these to be very hands-on and educative.

Students then walked over to the vegetable beds to pick the vegetables that were ready. We stuffed plump brinjals and bunches of crisp palak and sarson into bags we carried from home for the purpose.

Alas we were sorry to leave so soon. But we did with a resolve to be right back!
