Dance enjoys undisputed importance in the life of a child. It is an integral part of the learning process. Taking this thought forward the Pre-Primary department of The Indian School conducted a dance presentation, "HAPPY FEET" on 1 November 2019.
The children were very excited in the morning as they walked in to School dressed sporting tee shirts of different colours and denims. The colours assigned to the five classes were: Brown for Merak, Red for Leo, Green for Gemini, White for Orion and Yellow for Vega.
The toddlers of Pre School made for a spontaneous little audience in the auditorium to watch the performances of their peers with keen interest.
The event commenced with a performance by the students of Pre Primary Merak on the 'Chocolate Song' by Soul Control, a punk band from Providence, Rhode Island. The students presented a simple yet elegant dance performance on the fast paced number.
Next was a delightful presentation by the students of Pre Primary Leo on the 'The Ketchup Song'- a Spanish foot tapping song by the Spanish pop group, Las Ketchup. The children in red, depicted the colour of ketchup and happily danced to the beats of the song.
Pre Primary Gemini wearing green tee shirts followed with a performance on the song 'Waka-Waka', the popular number by Shakira. The power packed performance complemented the energy of the song! The students danced to their hearts content.
Pre Primary Orion tapped their little feet to the heady tune of 'Coco Jumbo', sung by German Eurodance group Mr. President. They screamed in glee as they danced to the foot tapping number.

Last but not the least was a performance by the students of Pre Primary Vega who danced to We like to Party' by Venga Boys, a Dutch Eurodance music group based in Rotterdam, Netherlands. A breathtaking performance which included beautiful formations by the deft little dancers had the audience craving for more.
Vice Principal, Ms Sukhmeen Kaur Cheema, graced the occasion and appreciated the performances. She motivated the little ones to always enjoy dance, music and rhythm.
The confidence and enthusiasm of the young performers was spontaneously appreciated by one and all present in the auditorium. The gleaming faces spoke of the joy of the performers and their peers in the audience equally!
