Celesta, an inter-school singing competition, was an event worth remembering. It was hosted by Delhi Public School, Vasant Vihar, on 25 January 2019. The theme was Leadership and Motivation.
A team of 10 from classes 4 and 5 of our School participated in the competition. Ms. Bhanu Batra and Ms. Bernadatte Bedi accompanied the children to the competition. The team captured the hearts of the audience with a perfect rendition. Ms. Bedi not only penned the lyrics of the song but also composed its music.
Our team was awarded the 3rd prize and a trophy from amongst 15 participating schools. Summerfields, Bluebells School International, Modern School and Springdales were some of the schools that participated in the competition.
Our host, DPS Vasant Vihar, gave us a warm welcome. The planning was detailed and immaculate. It was a cold winter morning but the outdoor stage was decorated in bright and beautiful hues. The show gracefully glided along with warmth and pomp. Composed by us and sung with fervor and passion the theme song elicited a resounding cheer and accolades from the audience. The names of the participants from class IV were - Kritikka Basu, Aanya Singh, Priyanshi Sharma, Nandini Bhandari, Oishee Halder and Upasana Khatua. Aamna Ahmed, Bhumika Puri, Nandini Saini and Rishit Pillai were the participants from class V. The children put up a great show and sang with panache and finesse.
All in all it was a harmonious blend of harmony, rhythm and inspiration.
