Honours at Inter school event at Mayo College, Ajmer

On 23rd August, 2017, 11 students of our School, Shrey Gogia of class X, Aatif Husain, Avantika Chodha, Sirjan Kaur, Tanmaye Kohli, Samarth Saxena and Yash Lamba of class XI and Rishabh Bhatia, Vatsala Banerjee, Pratham Gulati and Simran Narula of class XII set off to participate in the Silver Jubilee Commemorative Young Thinkers Conclave at Mayo College Girls School, Ajmer. The students took part in the various events namely, a multi format English debate. Hindi debate, script writing and theatre presentation, quiz, movie making, and web design.

The first day of the competition, 24th August, kept the students on their toes, as they sweated out in the preliminary rounds of the English and the Hindi debates, script writing, movie making and web design.

The Hindi debate team qualified for the semi-finals and the theatre presentation took place later on the same day.

On 25th August, the students competed in the quizzing event and the movie-making team edited their movie. Later in the evening, the students enjoyed a play staged by the host school, directed by Mr. Parnab Mukherjee. The day ended with the formal dinner.

26th August, the last day of the competition, started with the showcasing of the movies made, followed by the prize distribution.

The dramatics' team comprising Rishabh Bhatia, Simran Narula, Vatsala Banerjee and Avantika Chodha won the award for the Best Page to Stage performance. Avantika Chodha won the Best Speaker Extempore for the preliminary round of the multiformat English debate, and Simran Narula won the Best Speaker and Best Rebuttal semi-finals at the Hindi debate.

It was a great learning experience for all the students. We enjoyed every moment of it.
