Hour of Code- in house computer workshop for senior students
The computer department of our School organised a workshop titled The Hour of Code on 7 December, 2017 , for the students of classes VIII, IX and XI. This short programme commenced with one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify the code and to illustrate that anybody can learn its basics. It also sought to broaden the vision for students in regard to the field of computer science and the benefits of making it a career choice.
The session started with an hour of coding activities and then it extended to include services in general that the subject supports.

Learning computer science helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. By starting early, students build a strong foundation and thereby start with an advantage in their career paths.
During the workshop, students were exposed to activities like game development (minecraft), the basics of programming in java (hello processing), and tutorials on javascript and web designing.
The workshop was very enriching for the students, especially for those who feel intimidated by things technical.
