Inter house debate in Primary (classes 4 & 5)

Debating is an academic activity that gives students the room to express what they feel and also gives them immense confidence. Inter house events pave the way to developing a spirit of competition and bonding amongst the members of various houses.

This year an inter-house debate competition was held on 24th November 2017 for the students of classes 4 and 5. Ayaan Nath and Pratham Goel of 5C anchored the event proficiently.

The topic of the debate was "Should Animals be Caged ?"

Two competitors represented each house,one speaking for the motion and the other against. The speakers were well prepared, confident and demonstrated excellent memory and diction. The audience was attentive as it seemed to find the topic interesting and keenly listened to the points made.

The competition was adjudged by Head Teacher, Ms. Neena Maini and Ms. Parminder Kaur. Pritisha and Aurosmriti of Indra House won the competition while the second position was won by Kamreen and Kavya of Chandra House. Vania Taneja and Adyaant of Surya House got the third position while Saina Garg and Dheevam of Varun took the fourth position.

The winners were applauded by Ms. Neena Maini. She commended the sincere effort of the participants and teachers. She was proud of the young speakers and also the students who conducted the the event. She said that she hoped to see more students opting to participate in such competitions.
