Inter house Pookalam competition in class 3
Rangoli is a traditional art form that brightens up an occasion and is believed to be a harbinger of good luck. Beautiful patterns are created on the floor using coloured rice, flowers, coloured sand, and so on.
Keeping up with this, the talent and skill of the students was well on display at an inter house Pookalam ( flower rangoli) competition for the students of class III on Thursday, 8 September 22. The occasion for was Onam, the festival of harvest in Kerala, when tradition ushers the people of Kerala to decorate their homes with Pookalam.
The students applied their creativity and innovation as they set out to thickly fill the contours of the patterns sketched on the floor with their deft fingers and keen focus.
They used fragrant flower petals, leaves and powder colours and quickly the patterns transformed into colourful carpets spread across the school floors!

The criteria for judgement depended on the selection of design, neatness, clarity, colour combination and creativity.
