Inter school cultural fest, Chunauti
The Indian School consistently promotes student involvement in a variety of competitions for overall growth and development. On 27 and 28 April 2023, our School team comprising 18 students participated in the inter-school two day cultural event named, Chunauti, organised by Apeejay School, Saket. The cultural fiesta provided a platform to students for expression in art, dance, music and literary activities. Noted Sarod player, Pandit Biswajit Roy, was the chief guest on the occasion. The event saw the participation of more than 17 schools of Delhi-NCR.
Our students participated in 12 events of the cultural fiesta. They were felicitated with appreciation certificates in four categories. Rhythm Shreshtha Panjivar, VII, for La Rime (French). Here, the participants were to recite a rhyme in French with the use of props, costume, and visual aids.
Upasna Khatua, XI B, for Naad Brahma. Here, the participants were to sing Chota Khayaal and Tarana in a raga of their choice. Songs were supposed to be semi-classical/traditional/devotional in nature.
Sejal Gupta, XII A, for RapSoquy. Participants here were to present a soliloquy from one of Shakespeares plays by reciting it in contemporary rap form. Sejal played Portia from The Merchant of Venice and recited one of the very famous soliloquies of Shakespeare.
Mannat Suri, XII C, for Economico Varunastr. In this category, the participants were required to create and present a PPT on the allocation of funds in the various departments of the government to achieve a particular objective of the five-year plan.
In totality, our School team performed with flair and flourish. They got a great opportunity to showcase their ingenuity, intellect, and potential. This mega event was an enriching experience for the students.
