Inter school theatre fest

"Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in."

On August 5, 2023, students of The Indian School took part in Theatron, an inter-school theatre festival organised by Delhi Public School, RK Puram. The objective of this event was to give young and talented minds, an opportunity to explore, experiment, design, develop and create together. The competitions were challenging and encouraged students to perform their best. The details of the event are as follows.

Haritmaa Sharma XII-D, Samiya Khurana IX-C, Wanshika Saxena XII-B, and Aanya Pillai XI-D took part in Play-O-Poem, in which they were to recite and enact a poem, either adapted or self-composed. The four participants proceeded with a self-written poem by Haritmaa Sharma named I wouldve written a poem but.

The Ad Act category featured Manya Arora XII-C, Rudra Punj XII-A, Viraaj Gaba XI-C, and Hardik Ahlawat XI-A. Time Traveling Watch, Voice Changing Capsule, Truth Telling Toffee, Memory Enhancing Bread, and Power Gloves were among the subjects presented of which our participants chose Memory Enhancing Bread.

Tanisha Mehndiratta XI-A took part in Thespian Coliseum- Shakespearean Monologue/Soliloquy, in which she was to present a monologue/soliloquy from William Shakespeare's famous works, including Hamlet, Othello, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, The Comedy of Errors, The Merchant of Venice, Romeo & Juliet, Julius Caesar, King Lear, All's Well that Ends Well, As You Like It. Tanisha performed a famous soliloquy of Romeo (Act II, Scene II) from Romeo & Juliet'.

Hanna Susan Varghese XII-E, Mannvi Bhatia XII-E, Tanishka Chawla XII-E, Amrita Arun XII-E, Mannsi Agarwal XII-B, Mitansha Gera XII-E, Ritika Joshi XII-E, Prayota Chakravarty XII-E, and Vibhum Pandey XII-E competed in the event Street Play and chose Male Abuse and Exploitation as their topic for the nukkad natak.

Shraddha Saraswat IX-D, Vansh Sharma IX-C, Anahita Upadhayay IX-A, Sanjana Thakur IX-C and Aditya Ranjan IX-C formed the team for Stage-a-thon, in which the participants were to showcase a play based on any one of the themes, The Show Must Go On, Never say Never, and The Answer Always Lies Within. Our treasured team members performed The Show Must Go On.

The theatre fest provided the participants with a fantastic learning experience. It gave them an opportunity to showcase their talent and skills.
