Interaction with School Chairman Mr. Prafull Goradia on 'Science and Religion' , classes 9-11

The students of class 9th, 10th and 11th of The Indian School had an invaluable interaction with chairperson, Mr. Prafull Goradia on the topic 'Science and Religion.'

The students asked questions and also expressed their views on the same; some of them being; Can Science And Religion can coexist with each other to make the world a better place, Is Science the Absence of Religion.

Mr. Goradia differentiated between Deductive and Inductive Logic, which are irrational and rational respectively. Such logic is a result of beliefs and presumptions over the centuries. He explained that the major religions around the world, including Islam, Judaism and Christianity have all deduced God as one.

Mr. Goradia said that Science and Religion have tried to find the answers to the question above, since the beginning of time, but have employed contradictory methods. This has led to their often getting into each others' way and creating the illusion that they can never work together.

The Chairman told students that when something is left unproven by Science, it is taken up as a superstition by Religion. He talked about the origin of the word 'Fundamentalism,' citing that it was coined by the Darwinians, who believed in Darwin's Theory of Evolution to oppose the Church. 'Fundamentalist ' literally refers to a person who has lost a logical argument and has to finally resort to citing religious scriptures.

Mr. Goradia enlightened students about the beliefs of Karma and Bhagya and how they are inter-related-how Karma leads to Bhagya. He beautifully related this philosophy to Newton's third law of motion, that 'Every Action has an Equal and Opposite Reaction'.
