'Learning with Meaning'- an unusual Physics' workshop.

Accompanied by their teacher, Ms. Archana Ramchandani, Tushar Goyal and Rishanbh Khariyal attended an expository workshop embodying the theme Learning with Meaning at Fr. Agnel School on 10th April, 2015. The aim of this interactive session was to inculcate the fundamentals of Physics in learners and teach how to embrace the subject not only by rote, but by offering it a radical approach and visualising it in our everyday lives.

Dr. B.N. Das, eminent physicist, challenged our minds with his live experiments on the occasion. The topics varied from light and electro-magnetism to several basic things we witness every day; for instance examples as simple as the helical path formed by a falling piece of paper!

To begin with, students were expected try to analyse and explain the experiment conducted and then Dr. Das himself clarified the concept. He demonstrated 20 experiments which the students could perform, improvising upon things in their own surroundings.

At the end of the session, students of the host school showed us their working models, which fascinated not only the students and teachers present, but Dr. Das himself. It was, indeed, an intriguing workshop and a valuable exposure. We look forward to such opportunities in the future for newer ways of learning the subject and making it more interesting.
