'Library Unplugged'-workshop by Encyclopaedia Brittanica.
On Tuesday 18 August, 2015, Encyclopedia Britannica organised a delightful session at the India International Centre. The workshop was attended by teachers, librarians and Principals. Even the evening showers could not discourage the attendance!
The session was inaugurated by Mr. Amit Kapoor, Director Encyclopaedia Britannica, South Asia who shared a power-point presentation, The Emerging Trends in Libraries, 2015. The Britannica whose last edition was 2010 is now focusing on the benefits of e-books vide its new venture Library Unplugged an award winning e-library solution which offers more than 1,000 reference titles to assist curricular learning, covering a wide range of subject areas.
Dinner and a lucky draw were the added attractions of the event. While enjoying dinner many thoughts dwelled in my mind. Not ling ago, libraries were confined within 4 walls are now widespread and accessible at the click of a mouse!
The session was a very engaging and enriching experience.
