Master Teacher Training Programme

The AWIM ( A World in motion) an SAE ( Society of automotive engineers) in collaboration with MARUTI Suzuki India ltd. organised the MTTP -Master Teacher Training Programme on Saturday 22 August, 2015 at Mapple Emerald, Rajokri, New Delhi. Darshana Srivastava and I got the splendid opportunity to attend this workshop. AWIM is a teacher-administered programme, assisted by university and industry volunteers, that brings the practical aspects of Science,Technology, Engineering and Math ( STEM) education to life in the classroom. It targets the students of class IV and V, inculcating in them the application of science and mathematics in practical life, fostering their holistic and comprehensive development.

[gallery link="file"] A dedicated team of volunteers will train a team of 4 students each from class IV and V to create toys for the regional competition. Not only this they will be providing our students with the kits, for learning and practice. Students who qualify will proceed to the nationals and further to international levels. This workshop was basically an orientation programme in which an industry expert introduced us on how to build a toy jet, toy car and skimmer etc, even improvising as we went along.

In the main event, the students will be required to create a toy with the maximum and most innovative features in terms of a vehicle that travels fast, a long distance and carries weight. For this purpose they can experiment with numerous body designs and variations. The students will also be expected to market their toys skilfully.

All this was explained to us in detail. The programme was very effective as it gave us a hands-on experience of creating and presenting a jettoy and skimmer. In turn, we can now effectively communicate the same to our participating students and guide them along.
