Honours at Inter school Psycho- Socio Fest

A team of 16 bright Indianites participated in the annual psycho-socio fest, MOSAIC- Patterns of Life, organised by DPS, RK Puram on 28 July 2018. The group comprising of psychology and sociology students of classes XI and XII competed with their counterparts from over 30 schools across Delhi-NCR.

The event had 11 competitions - Showreel for movie making, Showcase for movie analysis, Tasveer was a photo essay competition, Manovishleshan for an analysis of the Mahabharata, Merge for blend art, Poise for western dance, The Devil's Advocate for turncoat debate, an essay competition called Thought Bubble, a sociology event called Sociology Garage, Just-a-Minute extempore for sociology students and Nukkad Natak.

The eclectic topics for each event were inspired by psychology and sociology. An impressive panel of jury adjudged these contests:

The closing ceremony saw the western music choir of the host school present a rendition of the classic, Imagine by John Lennon. Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal, thanked all the participants and expressed her appreciation for psychology and sociology as subjects. She emphasised the role played by psychology in an individuals journey towards sensitising oneself to the world, and that of sociology which sets the trend of what happens in society. She stressed the fact that students carry these subjects into the real world.

The school also launched their annual sociology magazine Paradigms. The principal, vice principal and the judges were invited on stage for the prize distribution.

It was a moment of pride when Muskaan Sancheti of XII B was awarded the second prize in the photo essay competition Tasveer, and Avantika Chodha of class XII D claimed the first prize in the turncoat debate Devil's Advocate.

A vote of thanks was offered by Vice Principal, Ms. Padma Srinivasan. The event concluded on a patriotic note with the national anthem.
