Mosaic Psycho-Socio fest at DPS

Our lives are unique stones in the mosaic of human existence- priceless and irreplaceable

The Inter-School Psycho-Socio Fest, Mosaic: Patterns of Life was organised by the Psychology and Sociology Clubs of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram on 27 July 2019. This unique festival aimed to provide the students of 29 distinguished schools with a great learning experience in the two disciplines. The festival was an amalgamation of nine events Canvas, Poise, Devils Advocate, Mind Games, Showcase, Slam Poetry, Nemesis, Social Garage and Glass Eye. A team of 10 bright Indianites participated. The group included students of Psychology and Sociology of classes XI and XII.

Canvas -art event sought to challenge creative capacity. Anushree Dutta of XI-D took part in this event.

Poise-dance event, aimed at exploring the correlation between movement and emotion. Dhriti Chatterjee (XII-D), Vedika Sharma, Nayantara and Sancia Dube (XI- D) participated in this event.

Devils Advocate was a debate. Jahnnobi Roy XII-C took part in this. Mind Games was a quiz which tested the participants theoretical and practical understanding of various psychological facets. Aashna Khanna XII-A and Anshika Sharma (XII-D) took part in this event.

Showcase was about the analytical skills of participants, using their understanding of psychological and sociological contexts/aspects for an advertisement shown to them. Jahnnobi Roy of XII-C took part in this event.

The spoken word, rhyme schemes and drama collaborated for the event Slam Poetry in which participants had to present samples of striking expression to touch the heart whilst drawing attention to burning social issues Tanya Trehan of XI-D took part in this event.

Nemesis enabled students to offer their unique perspectives on a celebrated topic, and Pandoras Box was where students were ushered to look at their childhood stories in new light. Abhiraj Sharma of XI-D took part in this.

Social Garage was an event which encompassed arguments born of various social issues and in this Anshika Sharma XII-D took part.

Glass Eye was an event about voicing opinions and building perspectives about a social issue through the medium of photographs. Paarul Malawalia of XII-D was the participant for this event.

The eclectic topics for each event were inspired by Psychology and Sociology. An impressive panel of jury adjudged these contests which included Mr Tushar Bharadwaj ( member of Rainbow Dance Theatre), Ms Vidhi Lal, multi- faceted Kathak exponent and Mr Anirban Bhattacharya, partner at General Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity.

The closing ceremony saw a presentation by the western music choir and a classical dance by students of the host school. Principal, Ms. Vanita Sehgal thanked all participants and expressed her regard for Psychology and Sociology as subjects. She shared her thoughts on the growing need of these subjects in todays life due to changing dynamics. Vice Principal, Ms Padma Srinivasan proposed the vote of thanks following which the event concluded with the national anthem.
