Multiple honours in Zonal Cultural Competition

Nancy Pearcey rightly said, "Competition is always a good thing. It forces us to do our best. A monopoly renders people complacent and satisfied with mediocrity."

Our School participated in the Zonal- Level Cultural Competition 2022-2023 organized by South District, Zone 23, from 3 to 31 August 2022. The aim of the competition was to promote art in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic and literary talent of school students. Our School demonstarted an exemplary performance in various events and won many laurels. The events that our School participated in,.include:

English Debate: Aarav Bansal VIII E and Aditya Ranjan VIII E, won the Second Position in the Junior Boys category. They spoke on the 'Increasing trend of junk food use among students and its implications'.They articulated with conviction, confidence and flourish.

English Slogan Writing: Manha Furqan VII A, bagged the Second Position in the Junior Girls category. The topic for the slogan was 'Save Water' and the time granted for the task at hand was two hours. Manha's slogan was most creative and pleasing.

Hindi Poetry Recitation: Ram Dhingra X, won the coveted Second Position in the Senior Boys category. The time alloted for the recitation of a self- composed poem was three to five minutes. He demonstrated his flourish in the national language with his impressive skills.

Poster Making: Puneet Kumar VIII C, was awarded the Third Position in the Junior Boys category. The topic was given on the spot. The children had to make posters on the topic 'Global Warming'. Two hours and thirty minutes were given to design the poster. Puneet displayed his innovative ideas and knowledge of colours and contrasts.

Painting: Shiksha Dwivedi VIII, won the Third Position in the Junior Girls category. The time alloted for the painting to be completed was two hours and thirty minutes. The topic given on the spot for the painting competition was 'Save Earth'. This seemed to be an extension of this year's theme for our School, ' Reclaiming our Planet'. She showed off her brush strokes beautifully.

Folk Song: Our School choir comprising of 23 students, was awarded the Second Position in the Group Folk Song category. The students sang traditional songs reflective of our rich culture and traditions. It was a celebration of the power of music and the spirit of unity. Nandini Saini IX A, Ananya Satti VIII E, Bhumi IX E, Tanishqa Bhattacharya VIII A, Upasana Khatua VIII C, Riya Malhotra IX A, Snigdha Naug VII E, Vaishnavi Rastogi XI D, Nayra Saini IX E, Divinity Rakhija VII E, Aadrita IX A, Banni VII A, Shaun Singh IX E, Oishee Halder VIII B, Adya Rai VII A, Kanishka Bhardwaj VII E, Hitvi Chandel VI C, Sweta Kumar VII E, Ishant Bhaskar IX A, Dhairya Saran X A and Abhineet Singh IX E, formed the team.

Overall, our School performed extraordinarily in the different events hosted as part of the zonal- level cultural competition and has qualified for the district level competition in all the categories mentioned above. It's indeed, a moment of immense pride and honour, for the School.
