NDTV student interaction on CBSE leak

The CBSE Board examinations are a phase of immense mental stress and frequent adrenaline rushes for all students. The students burn the midnight oil and strive to put their best foot forward. However, when this year the CBSE suffered leaks of the class 12 Economics and class 10 Mathematics question papers and announced retests for the same, students across many parts of the country were aghast. Rallies and protests became a regular sight in the week following the announcement. People even questioned the authenticity and efficiency of the Indian education system and the social media was flooded with heated debates.

To get first hand opinions and hear students who were directly affected voice themselves, NDTV invited students of our School for an interaction on 29 March, 2018. Simran Narula and Mayank Khatri of class 12 and Gauri Awasthi of class 10 got the opportunity to be a part of this.

Our students explicitly expressed their thoughts. They said that although the retests would create an atmosphere of added tension for the students, the prevalence of justice and equality for all students is foremost. They explained that those resorting to malpractices need to realise the significance of hard work and how the system of education needs to equip itself for such debacles.

On the 9 April, 2018, Simran Narula and Gauri Awasthi got an opportunity of getting interviewed live in the NDTV studio alongside the Honourable Education Secretary, Mr. Anil Swaroop. They even participated in a 20-minute long informal conversation with Mr. Swaroop wherein he discussed CBSE view on the issue. He concluded by wishing the students luck and best wishes for their future.

The opportunity was definitely one-of-a-kind!
