On a Nature Trail at the Chief Ministers residence
Indianites have always been very energetic on matters of conservation and the year is incomplete without a trip to the home of Mrs. Sheila Dixit, at 3, Motilal Place.
On 20 November, 2012, 34 students of classes 7 and 8 visited Chief Ministers residence to see and study the diverse species of plants and animals commonly found in Delhi. The students were ably guided by the representatives there, namely, Dr. Sabata and Ms. Arti.

Some of the plant species seen by the students were Jamun, Peepal, Bottle Brush besides varieties of bats, squirrels, butterflies, the peacock, etc. They also learnt about the pond ecosystem and why certain species are threatened. The children were curious to know about the way animals and plants live together in a biosphere. They spontaneously observed and asked questions which were patiently answered bythe facilitatora.
A bonanza was a meeting with the CM herself after the trail! The children were, needless to say overwhelmed to meet her! She too, articulated her delight at the enthusiasm of her little visitors.
