Inter House Hindi Debate for classes 9 and 10

On 31 July 2025, an Inter-House Hindi Debate was organised for the students of classes IX and X during the morning assembly, in commemoration of the birth anniversary of the legendary Munshi Premchand.

The assembly commenced with a thoughtful and insightful introduction to the life and literary contribution of Munshi Premchand, presented by Sonakshi Singh and Snigdha Naug of class X B. Their eloquent introduction shed light on Premchand’s role in shaping modern Hindi literature and his unwavering commitment to social realism.

Following this, the much-anticipated debate began. The topic for class IX was “ , ” (Samosa and jalebi are just an excuse, the real target is street food). Students presented their arguments and examples with conviction. Some students argued that targeting street food vendors harms the poor, while others argued that street food lacks hygiene and safety.

For class X, the topic of the debate was " " (The pressure of entrance and competitive exams is draining student creativity). The participants approached the topic with remarkable depth and maturity, presenting well-reasoned arguments and personal insights. Many students passionately argued that the relentless focus on marks and ranks in today's education system, places an overwhelming burden on young minds.

At the conclusion of the competition, Principal Ms Tania Joshi, addressed the gathering with her words of appreciation. She commended the students for articulating their thoughts so eloquently and confidently, noting that standing on the stage and speaking to an audience is no easy task. She applauded the students' courage and clarity in expressing complex ideas on challenging topics.

Vice Principal Dr Anu Singh then took the stage to announce the results. She praised all the participants for their thoughtful arguments and spirited performances, encouraging them to continue honing their communication and critical thinking skills.

In class IX, Kavya Joshi of IX A and Indra House was declared the winner, while Prabhnoor Kaur of IX B, also of Indra House, secured the Runner-Up position.

In class X, Navya Puri of X A representing Chandra House emerged as the winner, and Mohammed Arslan of X B of Surya House, secured thruRner-Up position.

The debate proved to be a valuable and enriching experience for the students, offering them a platform to research and articulate their opinions. It not only allowed them to express their thoughts in a structured way, with confidence and clarity, but also helped them develop critical thinking and public speaking skills.
