Peer education workshop
In continuation of the previous sessions, Expression India held a 4th in the series of 5 Mindsmart peer education workshops on 8 August, 2018 at the National Science Centre , Pragati Maidan. This was held between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm. The themes for the workshop this time were
1. life competencies and
2. family bonding and communication.
The chief guests at the event were Messrs J. L. Pandey (Advisor Expression India and Fmr. Leader of the adolescent programme NCERT) and A.P. Sharma ( Principal, Birla Public School, Doha). The event was facilitated by Ms. Ankita ( clinical psychologist with specialisation in forensic psychology). Peer educators from our school included Vanshika Kanojiya 9-B, Aashna Khanna 11_B, Tanya Aswani 11-E and Anshika Sharma 11-E. Present were also peer educators of other schools.

The workshop began by randomly assigning the students present from the different schools to seven groups. Each group was given different topic relating to the theme. Role of family life on the education of the children and neglectful style of parenting were the topics given, to name a few. Every group was asked to prepare a role play of 5-10 minutes on the given topic. with a preparation time of half an hour. The role plays were then presented in the auditorium at the venue.
The performances which were very engaging. The guests and event facilitator accompanied by Dr. Nagpal interacted with the students to find out their notions about family bonding. Our students were particularly motivated to interact with Dr. Nagpal towards the end of the event.
