On 7 August 2023, two students of The Indian School of class IX, Sanjana Thakur and Rishietdeep Singh, along with their teacher, Ms Archana Raichandani, attended an enriching workshop titled Rimjhim: A Drizzle of Wonder and Discovery in Physics at Birla Vidya Niketan.
Dr H.C. Verma, retired professor, IIT Kanpur, was the resource person at the session which was attended by several students and teachers of various schools of Delhi-NCR. The students were enlightened on the topic of gravity. Dr Verma said, Learning Physics is quite easy if you focus on practical knowledge. He covered a plethora of topics on the same.
He talked about reflection, refraction and the concept of mirrors and explained these in the simplest way. The students also performed many interesting activities like making a simple microscope using only paper along with sound amplifiers.
It was indeed an honour to meet Dr Verma.
