Pratah Stuti with our grandparents for Gandhi Jayanti.

Mohandas Gandhi, Father of our nation although not physically amongst us, the values and ideals he loved continues timelessly, to invigorate millions of Indians, generation after generation.

As customary, on 1stOctober, 2014, a Pratah Stuti was held in the auditorium at School to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bapu. The occasion is also celebrated by us as Grandparents' Day, to show our respect and appreciation for our beloved elders. Thus our grandparents were our guests of honour and we assembled together to sing the favourite hymns of Bapu.

The assembly commenced with the showcasing of a short movie on the Citizenship Programme, which is a sincere and effective initiative undertaken by our School to spread new awareness on keeping our Mother Earth clean, among numerous other societal concerns. This was followed by the the soulful rendition of some favourite hymns of Bapu by the student choir, accompanied by some teachers. Numerous musical instruments, namely, the tables, flute, harmonium, majeeras, etc played together by our talented little hands uplifted the singing to a special plane, befitting the beautiful occasion.

After the musical tribute to Gandhiji, there was a pageant of primary students dressed as our heroes of the freedom struggle who passed through the aisle and spoke a few memorable lines associated with the personalities they represented!

A gracious vote of thanks by our Vice- Chairperson, Dr. Mrs. Nayana Goradia concluded the morning's offering. She warmly thanked grandparents for making the time for the children to undertake the activity together. Needless to say, both the grandparents and their grandchildren bonded bountifully in the beautiful opportunity.

A crowning glory for our grandparents was a traditionalGujarati breakfast of the traditional ganthiya, jalebi and masala chai.
