Pre primary engages with peers in Vietnam school on Halloween

On 29 October 2024, the pre-primary students of The Indian School enjoyed a unique and memorable Halloween celebration through two exciting events. First, they participated in a Skype session with Ms Phung Hieu, a primary school educator in Vietnam, allowing them to engage in a cultural exchange. This was followed by a lively Halloween Parade Assembly, where students showcased their enthusiasm and creativity.

The children were thrilled to interact and share information with their counterparts from Vietnam. The Vietnamese students warmly welcomed the group from The Indian School by waving their national flag and greeting them in Vietnamese. They then introduced themselves and spoke about their native villages, presenting a PowerPoint presentation with images of their school and town. On the other hand, the pre-primary students of The Indian School showcased a variety of spooky costumes, such as the "Pumpkin," "Monster," "Black Cat," "Witch," "Bat," "Ghost," and "Goblin," and delivered their scary lines with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, some students, dressed in vibrant traditional attire, shared fascinating details about Diwali, the Indian festival of lights. The session ended on a joyful note, with plans to connect again soon to explore each other’s cultures further.

Following the virtual session, the pre-primary students celebrated Halloween with a vibrant and enchanting parade. The event took place in the school auditorium, decorated with spooky props made from reusable materials, a chilling backdrop, and eerie music, creating an atmosphere filled with laughter and excitement. The stage came alive as the charming "Spooky Ghosts" from PS Kokab, Haroop and Yuvaan, kicked things off by encouraging everyone to flaunt their Halloween costumes. Next, the “Whimsical Witches" from PS Capella, Divija and Namami, invited all to join in the fun. Then the "Playful Pumpkins" from PS Delphini, Aviraj and Gursanjh, the "Tiny Monsters" from PS Hercule, Rudransh and Devarsh, and the "Cheerful Cats" from PS Agena, brought their own unique flair to the parade. The excitement continued as a new group of characters took the stage, "Spooky Ghosts" Ira and Zenab from PP Merak, "Friendly Witches" Sahejnoor and Mohd Aaban from PP Leo, "Playful Pumpkins" Mishil and Tegamjot from PP Gemini, "Tiny Monsters" Sargun and Daksh from PP Orion, and "Jolly Jack-o'-Lantern" Rishika from PP Vega. The parade, with its lively antics and fun characters like "Bouncing Bats," "Giggly Goblins," and "Dancing Skeletons," captivated the audience and brought the Halloween spirit to life. This excitement flowed naturally into the musical segment, where children from both nursery and kindergarten sections performed energetic Halloween songs, including "The Bats on the Roof" and "If You’re Spooky and You Know It," adding a cheerful melody to the festivities.

The event concluded with heartfelt words of encouragement and appreciation from Ms Nayana Goradia, who commended both the students and teachers for their dedication and creativity in organising the Halloween celebration. The lively Halloween Parade, along with the interactive Skype session with educators overseas, created an unforgettable experience for all involved.
