PRE-SCHOOL ANNUAL DAY, 24 November, 2012

The youngest batch of theIndianitesi.e. the pre-schoolers of our School celebrated their Annual Day asFiestas and Carnivalsof Latin Americain the school play field on a sunny Saturdaymorning.

As the theme for thisyearisLatin America,our head teacher conceived of the idea ofshowcasingcountries like Chile, Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Argentina.The teachers and students, performed brilliantly to the beautifulLatinbeat, considering theyare between 3+ and 4 year olds! They could recognize the tunes and some could even hum the songs.The buntingswereworksheets coloured by the studentsof the country adopted for the year andcraftwhich included symbols like masks, crowns, suns made by them too. All the children participated.

The show began with a welcoming of the parents and the guests which included our Chairperson, Mr. Prafull Goradia. Ourspecial guests for the day wereMr. Tomas Pico fromArgentina, andMs. Anne Kobe fromBrazil. Their presence made our theme even more as they actively participated by letting off bunches of balloons of our adopted countries.As a gesture of goodwill wepresentedthemwith framedMadhubanipaintings createdby our senior children.

Next followed words of encouragement from our Principal, Mrs. Narula. After this,the show began with a parade by the little stars of the sections Agena, Capella, Delphini, Hercule and Kokab, wherein the childrendanced/walkedsmartlytothe song We are the little Indiansof The Indian School out on an excursion to Latin America. The piece was composed by ourmusic teacher Mr. LalitSaxena. The children carefully followed their teachers who heldaloftAztec symbols of their adopted countries;for example: Sun, Tree,ChileanMask, Mermaid and Goldfish.After the parade, thegirlsof each sectionperformed a dance and theboys did adrilltothe tunesof Latin Beatsplayed by ourmusic teacher,Children danced gracefully and amazed their appreciative audience with their hidden talents! This was followed by the races namely,pulsatingpom race, hat race,Kings &crowns,Fantastic Fishermanrace, sun mask raceetcwhichwereallage-appropriate.Theperformance was exemplary and the winners proudlyworethe medals andreceivedtheircertificatesespecially designed with a frame of Aztec alphabets.These certificateswere given away by the honoured guestsfrom Brazil & Argentina.

The races generated enthusiasmamongst thechildrenandall of them got a lollipop for their efforts.Mr. Tomas Pico and Ms. Anne Kobe expressed their delightat the students' performances and greatly appreciated the efforts of our School in stretching the horizons of

our little minds.

The programmeended with the teachers' race and the caregivers' race. The result of the students' races, results are:Sun Mask Race was won by Jatin Bhardwaj, Ohaid Khan, and Kashvi Kathuria.In the Kings & crowns race, Rishita Rawat, Ananya Arora, Mohini Kapoor were winners. In the Pulsating PomPoms, results were, Bhoomika lohia, Harshita Bhatia, & Alisha Surana. For the Hat Race, Vibhat Bose, Yuvraj Singh, and Mukul Verma. Finally the FantasticFisherman Race was won by Manthan Bobal,Vania Taneja and Hitisha Mehta.
