Primary Zonal Chess Tournament held at our School
The Indian School successfully hosted the Primary level Zonal Chess tournament on October 26, 2024, a day that witnessed both camaraderie and competition among young chess enthusiasts. This zonal tournament aimed to bring together budding talent from across various schools and encourage strategic thinking, concentration and a love for chess among young students.
The tournament saw impressive participation from around 35 schools, which included both government and private institutions. The schools participating were those of Zone-23, bringing diversity and a spirit of healthy competition to the event. Students of classes 3 to 5 represented their schools and showcased commendable chess skills.
The tournament was structured in a knock-out format, ensuring that every player had an opportunity to compete and showcase his or her talent. Matches were held in a carefully organised sequence, adhering to standard chess tournament guidelines and protocols.
The tournament was a resounding success, fostering a culture of competitive excellence and mutual respect. With dedicated organisers and participants, the tournament not only identified young talent but also instilled values of sportsmanship, patience and critical thinking among the students. The following schools won the accolades in the event.

Third Position Jointly- The Pinnacle School and Sant Nirankari Public School
The tournament was well organised, creating a strong foundation for future events and reinforcing the importance of chess as a sport that cultivates mental acuity and discipline among students. This event has set a high standard for inter school chess tournaments.
