Rangoli Celebration in Pre School

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Pre school hosted a vibrantĀ  lighting of a grand salt Rangoli, bringing together the parents and the children for an evening of pre Diwali festivity. The gathering was marked by the participation of enthusiastic parents and their children, who arrived dressed in colourful ethnic attire. The event fostered cultural appreciation and community spirit while engaging families in a creative activity.

At 4 PM, our families arrived at School and each was presented a diya, meticulously painted by the children. As parents and children made their way to the venue on the basketball court, they were enveloped in a magical space filled with cheer and awe. Once assembled, Head Teacher- Primary, Ms Vandana Tiwari, warmly welcomed the parents. She explained the significance of salt, relating it to the historical Salt March led by Gandhiji at Dandi. Ms Tiwari emphasised the symbolism of salt as a symbol of self sufficiency, purity and peaceful existence, reinforcing the importance of these values as we celebrate Diwali. Her insight encouraged reflection among the families present.

To enhance the festive spirit, traditional Diwali songs were played in the background, creating an uplifting ambience. One of the highlights was a spirited dance performance where children, clad in traditional outfits, joyously danced with their parents to the popular song, "Mere tumhare sabke liye Happy Diwali".The dance not only showcased the children's enthusiasm but also fostered a sense of unity and joy among the families.

The occasion continued with an interactive game, "Simon Says," led by Ms Othilia Fernandes. The children displayed impressive listening skills as they followed commands, adding an element of fun and excitement to the evening. This game encouraged participation and engagement, ensuring that everyone was involved.

As the sun began to set, the atmosphere turned surreal as the little flames stood upright in the dropping darkness. The rangoli was radiant in the glow of the diyas. Parents happily captured the pretty picture as photographs for posterity.

As the special occasion came to a close, parents and children enjoyed a delightful assortment of refreshments and tea, providing a perfect opportunity for families to mingle and share their experiences of the evening. The event was graced by the presence of our esteemed Dr Nayana Goradia, Vice Chairperson and Ms Parminder Kaur, PTA VP, whose support and encouragement were invaluable in making the evening a success.
