Recognition Day 2019 ( Pre Primary Department)

Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you to make a living, the other helps you to make a life - Sandra Carey.

The Pre-Primary department of The Indian School celebrated its annual Recognition Day on 20 July 2019 in the Schools Foundation Hall. The purpose of the occasion is to recognise excellence in an environment that encourages positive outcomes for all students in every sphere of learning. It also paves the way for the lesser achievers to strive harder, thereby, lending a healthy atmosphere of competition amongst the students to endeavor to be better.

There were 35 children of the Pre-school Batch 2018-19 who were felicitated on the day for excellence in various categories, namely Marked Improvement, Spoken English, Neat Worker, Outstanding Performance, Good Helper, Active Participant. Prizes were given to students for their excellence in the skills of art, dance, music, skating and yoga. The event was graced by Ms. Madhavi Diwan, esteemed member of the School managing committee and the ceremony was also attended by Principal, Ms Tania Joshi, Vice Principals, Dr. Anu Singh and Ms. Sukhmeen Kaur Cheema, Vice-President of PTA, Ms.Prachi Kakkar, PTA Secretary Ms. Tina Kapoor and Pre Primary PTA Rep, Ms Shabana Khan.

The event commenced with the welcoming of the parents of the awardees. As the parents settled into their seats, our Principal congratulated them for providing encouragement and spending quality time with the children and not just showering them with material rewards. The parents were also appreciated for collaborating enthusiastically with School in widening the horizons of the children by exposing them to age- appropriate variety.

The Pre-primary choir then sang for the audience. In the meanwhile their classmates got ready to receive their awards. The ceremony was followed by a skit on keeping the environment clean and green. The parents needless to mention, were ecstatic to see their little ones taking honours so early in their lives!

The programme ended with the School song sung by the teachers. The joyous parents too sang along in their affectionate identification.

The recognition ceremony was indeed a special occasion for all of us, leaving us introspecting. It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.

And we felt assured. Indeed, our children had accomplished!
