Reliving the Magic Of Harry Potter -workshop

21st December, 2015 was a cold Sunday morning and as Delhi dug into blankets in order to escape the bitter cold, a few students of classes 9-11 ( Potterheads as they called themselves), along with Ms. Vandana Misra, were ready and geared up for the Harry Potter workshop, at the India Habitat Centre! They seemed to have successfully fought off the dementors which had gripped them tightly to their beds!

Upon reaching the venue, we were greeted by the extremely warm and jovial Nupur Awasthi, a storyteller-educationist. The students were told to sort ourselves into the four houses of Hogwarts. The workshop began with each of the gathered children offering their reasons for why they love Harry Potter. For some it is an escape from reality and for some the character is inspirational and the books filled with lessons of bravery and friendship.

This was followed by a Harry Potter trivia and crossword, filled with mind-boggling questions. There was also the Muggle version of Quidditch, which consisted of a dustbin and a number of balls which were to be thrown into the dustbin. The more balls inside the bin, the higher was the score! Each house composed a song, describing and cheering their own (although Slytherin, true to its name, concentrated solely on demotivating the other houses rather than cheering its own!) The game of Quidditch was won by the most unlikely of houses- Hufflepuff, with 150 points!

With this the workshop came to an end, and we were left with one of the most wonderful memories. We were able to relive the magic of Harry Potter,. We greatly look forward to be able to attending more such events.
