Reminiscence and Rhythm, Alumni Dandiya 2015, 18 October.

School hosted its annual Dandiya cum Alumni Reunion amidst the navratra festivity on the pleasant and quiet Sunday evening of 18th October 2015.

Students of classes 10 to 12 and teachers from across the levels gathered to welcome the alumni back. Excitement and nostalgia filled the air as ex-students returned to School and met old friends. A carpet of salt rangoli embedded by luminescent clay diyas decorated the space the gate to the front reception offering an instant feeling of warmth and welcome.

The executive body of The Indian School Alumni Association, namely, Sasha Samuel, Anish Bhatt and Luvditya Khurana held fort at the registration table along with Ms. Kajal Soni and Ms. Ekta Chitkara. The dress code, being ethnic, made everyone look prepossessing. Several twinkling diyas on the floral, mounted diya stand stood alluringly in the centre of the basketball court beckoning the vibrant and vivacious dancers to garba raas around it. Nimble and sure-footed dancers from classes X and XI caught everyones attention as they made a catchy opening presentation. The swirl and swish of glitzy ghagras , the rhythmic beat of dandiya sticks, the incandescent lighting drew many to the dance floor as the music switched from garba to Punjabi hip hop and back. Soon everyone was dancing to the beats of Dandiya songs like Nagada Sang Dhol . The atmosphere was one of gaiety and gregariousness as everyone partook of the festivity. Reservations shed, teachers and students danced together. The evening was charged and eclectic as ten batches of alumni celebrated their return to School. Treats of delicious snacks and favourite 'Ice Tea' tickled our taste buds!

As in the past years, this reunion brought back countless recollections and joyously we mingled to share and bond in the fond and secure portals of our beloved alma mater. When it was time to say goodbye, hardly anyone could hide the wistfulness in their eyes. We parted with fervent promises of meeting again next year, same time, same place.
