School Road Safety Awareness Campaign 2018-2019
The 3rd edition of the School Road Safety Awareness Campaign 2018-19 was launched in the national capital by Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik on 19 September, 2018 at the NDMC Convention Hall, Sansad Marg. Our students along with hundreds of school students along with their teachers attended the programme.
The objective of the campaign was to underscore the importance of road safety education for children and to catch them young. At their age, children are impressionable and so it is easier to mould them into sensitive and law- abiding citizens. They in turn address issues within their families and act as Road Ambassadors.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Patnaik said the role of teachers is critical in inculcating good habits and bringing behavioural changes among students. He added that students can spread the message of road safety responsibly.

The event commenced on a lyrical note as delegates were welcomed with poetic couplets on road safety. A PPT-Safety with Swacchta was shown, which highlighted the accomplishments and goals achieved by the traffic police in the last two years. Slides flashed facts and figures on road accidents and associated deaths, snapshots of competitions of the previous years, etc.
Schools were asked to conduct competitions for children- painting, quiz, writing competition, nukkad natak and innovation with waste material, based on the theme of road safety. Their entries in the form of power point presentations/videos/photos are to be sent in by 31st December 2018, for assessment to name the Best School.
All participating schools were directed to continually hold Road Safety workshops along similar lines in their respective schools.
The event concluded with the participants pledging support to this noteworthy endeavor by the traffic police and assuring them of their wholesome participation to make this years campaign a grand success.
