Sights of Delhi excursion for class 4
School excursions are an effective means of motivating students and engaging them in active learning experiences. Our School carefully plans the excursions to complement the curriculum at each level. The children not only enjoy themselves in the company of their friends but also learn about their surroundings, environment and the habitat.
Keeping this in mind, an educational trip- Delhi Darshan was organised for the students of class IV on 26th December, 2017. During the trip, we saw several landmarks of our city; India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Gol Dak khana, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, the Sacred Heart Cathedral, and finally Jantar Mantar.

The students were familiarised with what they were to see before the trip, vide a powerpoint presentation.
At Jantar Mantar, students were told about the historical as well as scientific importance of the monument. It was explained how the primary purpose of the observatory was to compile astronomical tables and to predict the times and movements of the sun, moon and planets.
The children on their return to School drew their favourite monument and write their experience.
Students were happy and excited to share their thoughts and wanted to go on more such excursions soon. This was yet another exercise of edutainment.
