Skype classroom for the students of Physical Education

On 26 August 2019, a valuable interaction with Dr. Kusum Lata, HOD of Physical Education at the Indian Height School, Dubai, was organised at our school. The event was a forty-five-minute-long Skype session and held in the computer lab. 22 students of Physical Education of class 12 took part in this pedagogical practice. The purpose of this exercise was to make students aware about the latest exam pattern of the CBSE and make them aware of the benefits of Physical Education and Sport.

Dr. Kusum commenced the session by highlighting the future prospects of a person in the field of Physical Education. Students questioned her about the scope of the subject and she enlightened them about the same with the most common career option being Journalism. She referred to the meditation session organised by Yoga Guru Bharat Thakur during New Burjuman, Dubai Studio launch.

The session was an eye opener for the students when she apprised them about the encouraging attitude of the Dubai government, as well as the active participation of citizens in the field of sport. On the other hand, she mentioned that the extent of women's participation was somewhat less. Recently at an International Conference of Sports for Women held in Abu Dhabi made the message clear. Women from Emirates have made a mark in sports with 23,000 of them participating in events and activities last year.

Dr. Lata ended the session on a very positive note, encouraging our students to play a prime role in the development of sport in India. She even expressed a desire to visit our School sometime soon.

Students enjoyed the session as they were able to hold a fruitful discussion.
