Special assembly on Diwali by PP Orion

Diwali, the festival of lights, brings joy and happiness all around. This year too Diwali was celebrated with the same enthusiasm and rituals.

School was ' dressed up' too in the vibrant colours of rangoli and craftwork by the children. The teachers traced life size rangoli patterns which were devoutly filled in with flower petals by the children, as directed by their teachers. The children could be seen carefully peeling the petals in the order of the colour required and then clutching them gently between the fingers to place them in the spaces shown! It was a collaborative and delightful display of skill!

On 17th October 2017, a special assembly was undertaken by Pre-Primary Orion. The programme began with a melodious song by our budding singers, dressed in ethnic attire to match the occasion.

The children, by turn spoke to share the significance of the five days that comprise the festival, namely, Dhanteras until Bhai Dooj. They also did a role play to illustrate as they spoke. The children then presented a group dance which incorporated steps of folk dances from different parts of the country.

The assembly concluded with our Head Teacher appreciating the presentation and also explaining to the children how it is important to celebrate Diwali in a clean and healthy way.
