Special assembly on World Radio Day by class 6

"TV gives everyone an image, but radio gives birth to a million images in a million brains."

On 13 February 2023, the sixth-grade students of The Indian School celebrated World Radio Day by presenting an assembly to honour the famous and enduring history of the radio.

Adrika and Misha of class 6, gave an enthusiastic welcome speech that emphasised the value of the radio in modern society. The students were then shown a movie about the development of the radio. Another student, Kishika, presented an autobiography of a radio. The Talk Box, a radio show, was hosted by Shelin Raj, which began with updates on international, national and sporting events. Following this, Aryan Sehgal portrayed the enlightened words of the special guest on the radio show, Shri Sadhguru, who gave everyone a wake-up call to address climate change.

The class VI choir presented a rap song on the detrimental impacts of air pollution. Swarnima and Tanmay Virmani then shared amusing radio trivia to lighten the mood. Following this, Kishika and Arnavjeet shared a thought for the day. The motivating remarks by Principal, Ms Tania Joshi, marked the conclusion of the enriching assembly.
