Procter and Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Limited conducted a workshop to create greater hygiene related awareness among girls of class VII on April 18, 2019.
The resource person, gave a brief introduction about physical, mental and emotional changes that take place in girls during adolescence. To enable children feel comfortable and share their concerns, she started the session with a video clip on the various biological processes that a womans body undergoes. There was discussion on good menstrual hygiene practices such as the use of sanitary napkins, washing and cleaning followed by few important precautions to be taken.
[gallery link="file" order="DESC"]Various myths associated with menstruation were dispelled. Students were told about the carefu and safe disposal of sanitary pads, as good menstrual hygiene is crucial for the health and dignity of girls and women.
This was followed by a question-answer session where the queries of girls were taken up. Queries ranging from irregularity of periods to hormonal changes were addressed.
The session was very informative and useful.
