Top honour at Carmel Convent inter school even

At Iridescence 2023, Carmel Cultural Week, hosted by Carmel Convent School from 19 to 26 July, Maanya Arora, Hriday Kalra, and Atiksh Jain of class XII-C, Vaasu Arora (XI-E) and Sanskriti Chhabra and Hanan Hussain of XI-D showed their entrepreneurial cum culinary skills in a flame-free cooking competition titled Capture the Market", on 21 July 2023. The students were accompanied by Ms Vandana Sharma.

It was a highly anticipated event that aimed to challenge and showcase the marketing prowess of the participants from various schools. It provided a dynamic environment for the participants to strategise and demonstrate their promotional skills. They prepared a few dishes like a burger, a Chinese combo, nacho salad etc. and used effective ways to sell them.

In another event, on 22 July 2023, The Indian School team received the Best Story Award in the English Drama category. The group comprised six students of class IX- Anahita Upadhyay, Disha Verma, Ashwini Prakash, Shraddha Saraswat, Nikhil Rajakumar and Aditya Ranjan. Ms Gandharvi Mukherjee escorted the team to the event. This sub event named Renaissance was based on the theme, Women Empowerment and Gender Equality". The crucial theme found an echo in the story of a male protagonist Henry Marsh and his haughty contempt of women on the sets. The play portrayed how his arrogance causes his own downfall, which leads to the main lady character emerging as the real hero! The story won the hearts of the judges, who praised the students for their ingenuity and creativity.

Our School team comprising Kishika Assudaney and Hemakshi Talwar of class VII participated in the event An Ode to Christopher Marlowe on 24 July 2023. The two participants were accompanied by Ms R. Nithyakalyani. The event started at 9 am and 10 teams participated in this event. Our students carried their own props and enacted a scene from Christopher Marlowes Doctor Faustus. Their performance was appreciated by all.

Our students performed with utmost dedication and enthusiasm. It was an enriching experience for our students and it provided them a great learning opportunity.
