Top honour at U-17 Boys National Rural Games- 2017

The U-17 Boys National Rural Games was organised between 25 and 27 August 2017 at Krishnagri in Tamil Nadu. It was organised by the Rural Games Federation of India (RGFI) affiliated with the World Rural Games Federation.

The selection of players for this championship was made at trials held at the Thyagraj Stadium in Delhi. Here, 500 players from various Delhi schools enlisted but only 16 from 12 states ( Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand) were shortlisted.

Rishit(9-C)from our School was among those selected to play.

While competing with Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Haryana and Karnataka, Delhi won by 1-0, 5-4, 3-0 and 3-2 respectively. Rishit scored 3 goals against Punjab and a winning goal against Karnataka. Delhi won the Championship.

Being selected to play for the the Delhi State team and winning a Gold is indeed an honour for our young sportman, Rishit and equally an example for several other enthusiasts like him.
