Top honours at Inter school Literary Fest
Language is the road map of culture. It tells you where its people come from and where they are going.
On Wednesday, 7 August 2019, twelve students participated in a literary festival titled Cerca Trova at the Lotus Valley International School, NOIDA. The two day event was organized to celebrate the tenet of Cerca Trova- Seek and You Shall Find, reminding us that impossibilities only exist if we believe they do. The festival aimed at testing a students knowledge in all spheres of the English language. The event began with a theatre performance by students of the host school. The students performed O. Henrys play, After twenty years. The event was judged by a panel of eminent personalities namely Dr Krishnan Unni - Associate Professor at Deshbandhu College, Ms Vandana Bisht- an illustrator, Prashant Sehgal an actor, producer and editor and Ms Shaiyla Katyal senior journalist at The Times of India. As many as twenty schools from Delhi NCR participated in this literary extravaganza.
The Principal addressed the gathering and referred to the students as agents of change. She expressed hope in them and wished all the participants luck. Her encouraging words infused a lot of enthusiasm in the students. They were then escorted to different venues. The accompanying teachers were asked to remain seated in the auditorium. The festival comprised three events namely, a debate, poetry enactment and a language and literature quiz.
Our participants for the same were:
Battle of Words (Turncoat Debate) Aryan Singh (XI) and Mehar Saxena (XII)
Poetry in Motion (Poetry Enactment) - Aadyant Sood, Sejal Gupta, Mannat Suri, Shaurya Sharma, Rudra Punj and Amrit Arun from class VIII, Adhitye Chandel from class VII and Siryah Arora from class VI
Ex-Quiz-It (Language and Literature Quiz) Maitreyi Purandare from class IX and Sarvagya from class X
All the participants performed their best in all the events. Our participants, Maitreyi and Sarvagya were adjudged winners in the literary quiz. They competed with 14 schools and emerged as proud winners.
The event provided opportunities to showcase the linguistic prowess of students, unleashing their creativity and moulding them into global citizens for tomorrow.
