Visit to National Bal Bhawan

The Indian School endeavours to provide a holistic learning to its young and impressionable wards. The classroom learning is thus often linked to experiential learning. In this context the students of class II paid a visit to National Bal Bhawan on Kotla Road.

A group of 180 exuberant students escorted by their teachers stepped into a one of its kind museum in India on Tuesday, 25 September, 2018. The museum houses a breathtaking collection of paintings and crafts reflecting our glorious past, and included beautiful dolls depicting various epics and tales.

The exterior walls of the museum are covered with interesting graffiti and paintings depicting the culture and traditions of different states of India. The students were able to see at a glance the rich and vibrant cultural heritage of our country.

The enthusiastic school group was thrilled to visit the art and craft gallery where the exhibits ranged from craftwork utilising waste material to paintings and clay modelling.

Next, the group visited the traffic park located inside the campus. They were briefed on dos and donts of driving and walking on the road with a special focus on road signs and traffic rules. A video on Road Safety was also shown to them.

The students also visited the mini zoo and the aquarium situated on the museum grounds. Finally, it was time to board the buses and head back to school.

It was a fun-filled educational trip which provided the students with a joyful and enriching learning experience in an outdoor classroom, so to say.
