Visit to the National Science Centre, class 6.
Come on! Let's dive into the depths of science! On Tuesday, 17th January 2017, the children of class 6 made a visit to the National Science Centre. The edutaining exercise included observing the myriad models, structures and diagrams on display and even trying a hand at the interactive experiments. The models and simulations ranged across the fields of science both physical and biological.
The first gallery was Water- Elixir of Life. It was, as the name suggests, all about water. Here, among the many options, the children could check the water percentage in their bodies. The next gallery was the Hall of Nuclear Power. The gallery provided information about nuclear power and its uses. It displayed the progress and achievements of scientists in the area.

The Science and Technology Heritage Gallery was about the rich heritage of tradition, art, architecture, languages and the technology of our country; the Human Biology Gallery. included displays on the human body and its various aspects. The most exciting among all the galleries was the Dinosaur Gallery with its exhibits of prehistoric dinosaurs, including an animated model of a specimen!
Next was the Fun Science Gallery. As the name indicates, the gallery is filled with fun ways of interacting with science. Here, the mirror maze was the most interesting of all. Last but not least was The Emerging Technologies Gallery. Here, we learnt about new technologies emerging rapidly in the world around us.
This excursion not only reinforced the basic principles of science but simultaneously added to motivating the children to continuously exercise their imaginations ' to arrive at a new way of doing things', as it were.
