Visit to the tech fest at IIT Delhi

Students from classes X and XII of The Indian School attended the TRYST Tech Fest on 16 April 2022 at IIT Delhi. Vice-Principal, Dr Anu Singh and teachers, Mr Pallabh Roy Ms Sumi, Ms Suman and Ms Ayesha of the science faculty accompanied the 84 students.

The visit helped the students learn about the practical application of science subjects in real life; understand the difference between theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge through their projects.

The students got a chance to interact with the founder of Bharat pe, Mr Shashvat Nakrani, who shared his knowledge about start-up culture. As a young unicorn, he also talked about India as the highest internet consumer; how to make the country's population an asset to produce more unicorns. Interaction with Mr Nakrani was a great learning experience as he also shared the problems he faced in the initial phase of Bharat pe. He also highlighted concepts like exchange of services, bank checks, the effect of demonetisation etc.

The visit to the IIT campus motivated and excited the class XII students, as most of them are JEE aspirants. The IITians gave a full tour of the lecture halls, classrooms and labs. The campus is a world in itself! The young students were awed and amazed at the surreal feel of one of the most prominent technical institutions in the country.

IIT facilitates an atmosphere to develop a scientific temperament and motivates students to have innovative ideas and zeal to help India advance in science.
