Visit to Van Gogh

"A beautiful appearance perishes, but a work of art dies not."

Four students from The Indian School - Astha Chaudhri (X), Vania Taneja (X), Deepanshi Moitra(X) and Aadya Garg (XI), along with Principal Ms Tania Joshi and art teacher Ms Kusum Sharma visited Gurugram to witness the timeless works of art by the eternal Vincent Van Gogh.

The event was the 'Van Gogh 360 Immersive Experience' which was showcased at the National Media Center, Gurugram, DLF Cyber City Road. As the name suggests, the experience was indeed immersive, as the art works were extravagantly projected around the room with added elements, which made the works come alive and moving. The art was subtly complemented with soft music which made the visuals ethereal.

Sublime artworks such as 'The Wheat Field', 'Cafe Terrace at Night', 'Peace', 'The Bedroom at Arles', 'Sunflowers, many of his self-portraits, and the most distinguished 'Starry Night' were displayed.

Visitors were awestruck at the build-up and dramatised slideshow of the works with the most complimenting music.

The viewers were also acquainted with the history and background of the art works to better appreciate the great painter. Our students returned home with cherished memories and new perspectives.
