Workshop on Holistic Progress Card (HPC)
A workshop on Holistic Progress Card (HPC) for Preparatory Stage was conducted on February 12, 2025, at CBSE(East) regional office. The workshop focused on the importance of assessments, challenges faced, the guidelines provided by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and stimulating activities to help educators understand HPC in a better way.
The session began with an interactive discussion on 'What are Assessments?' and 'Why do Assessments Matter?' It was discussed how one can prepare students for their future academic and professional endeavours. The goal of the HPC is to identify areas for improvement and provide feedback to students
The educators delved into the issue of whether assessment is observable or non-observable. The session highlighted the common challenges which educators face in conducting assessments which included- limited resource and time, difficulty in assessing complex skills and competencies etc.
The workshop emphasised upon the NEP 2020 guidelines regarding HPC and the need to have competency-based assessments to measure progress of the students.
To wrap up the session, several meaningful activities were conducted, including creating a sample HPC template, designing assessment tasks and rubrics, and developing a plan for implementing HPC in their respective schools.
