Class 6 visits the Dr B.R. Ambedkar National Memorial
On 23 August 2023, a group of 92 students from class VI embarked upon an educational visit to the Dr B.R. Ambedkar National Memorial, located in New Delhi. The purpose of the visit was to provide the students with an opportunity to know about the life, work, and contributions of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, great social reformer, jurist and the architect of the Indian constitution.

Before the commencement of the extensive tour, the expert museum staff divided the students into groups. The sense of wonder of the young visitors knew no bounds as they closely examined each exhibit depicting Dr Ambedkar's life journey. From the glimpses of his early life to his pivotal role in framing the Indian constitution, the exhibition featured photographs, documents and artifacts, giving the students a comprehensive understanding of his valuable contributions. The students gained insights into his efforts to uplift the marginalised sections of society.
At various points during the tour, interactive sessions were conducted, allowing students to ask questions and engage in discussions on Dr Ambedkar's beliefs, the challenges he faced, and the impact of his efforts in the making of modern India.
The visit enhanced the students' understanding of the Indian constitution and its significance in ensuring justice, equality, and fundamental rights. Learning about Dr Ambedkar's relentless pursuit of social justice, inspired students to reflect on their own roles in promoting equality and combating discrimination. This impactful learning experience broadened the students' horizons in terms of historical understanding, social consciousness, and constitutional awareness. It served as a reminder of the significant strides made in India's journey towards inclusivity and equality, while also highlighting the ongoing challenges that need to be addressed.
